Alex StowePlumas Charter School is proud to announce that 2018 graduate Alex Stowe has been accepted to the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island.

After 10 months of schooling at the preparatory level, Alex will transition to the Naval Academy for up to four years to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in a major of his choice. Upon graduation he will be an ensign in the U.S. Navy or a first lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Application to the Naval Academy Preparatory School is a rigorous process and Alex said he is grateful and excited for the opportunity.

The son of James and Dee Stowe, Alex was born and raised in Quincy and has attended Plumas Charter School since eighth grade.

Alex’s dedication to his studies was evidenced by his early promotion to high school during eighth grade. He has been taking Feather River College concurrent courses since the beginning of his 10th-grade year.
