Greenville Learning Center students celebrate 100 days of school. To celebrate the 100th day of school this year on March 13, Greenville Learning Center students went back in time to the 1920s. Plumas Charter School teachers Lauren McIntyre and Jennifer Van Acker dressed in historical costumes and also set up their classroom as it would have been in the 1920s to show students how education styles and environments have changed. “It was a fun day!” said Van Acker. In sharing old-time string art games with their students, teachers taught them cat's cradle, cup and saucer, Eiffel tower, and cat’s whiskers. Students also learned about old-fashioned schoolroom discipline techniques like the dunce cap.
