PCS pine cone logoPlumas Charter School Executive Director Taletha Washburn recently announced that the school is seeking a member from the Chester area for its board of directors.

The PCS board oversees and supports the school’s operations. Washburn said board members must be parents or community members in the area they represent.

Members should be interested in Plumas Charter School programs and functions, be willing to engage with all monthly board materials, and be willing to attend monthly board meetings, which are held rotating between Quincy, Taylorsville, and Greenville (virtual access is also available).

“Additional opportunities for participation are available too,” said Washburn. “Members can also do committee work, such as assisting with budget development or facilities.”

Board meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, at 3:15 p.m. Because of upcoming holidays, the January meeting will be held Jan. 28 and the February meeting will be held Feb. 25.

Plumas Charter School is a nonprofit public school providing personalized learning opportunities for students in transitional kindergarten through 12th grade via learning centers in Quincy, Indian Valley, and Chester. To learn more, visit
