PCS Board

PCS Board

PCS is an independent charter school and as such has its own governing board. As required by California law, our board meetings are open to the public, and the agenda for every meeting is posted in advance at all four PCS learning centers as well as on this website. Currently, meetings are held at 3:15pm on the third Monday of each month. Meeting locations alternate between Quincy and Indian Valley locations, please check the posted Agenda. If you have a question about attending a board meeting, please call the Quincy business office.

Plumas Charter operates under a California non-profit corporation, Plumas Alternative Learning Services, or PALS.  The Plumas Charter School Board of Directors shall set the number and qualifications of directors on the Board. The number of directors shall be not less than three (3) and not more than thirty (30). The desired minimum number of board members is seven; five parents representing the three communities we serve, and two community members. The governance section of the charter for Plumas Charter School is hereby incorporated by reference into these bylaws

If you think you might like to serve on our board, we welcome you to attend a meeting to gain an idea of the board’s duties and concerns. If you decide you would like to serve, you should then submit a letter of interest to the board.  New members are seated annually, at the July meeting, except in the case of midterm vacancies, which will be announced and filled as they occur.

If you would like to contact a member or members of the PCS Board, you can write to them at Plumas Charter School, 546 Lawrence Street, Quincy, CA 95971
